BAE Systems one of the worlds largest manufacturers of military aircraft required extensive emergency repairs carrying out to its runway at Brough, East Yorkshire. This would allow the facility to be used to test fly the new aircraft built at this station. Route One were employed to repair over 4000 linear metres of joints during planned maintenance to ensure the airfield was safe to use for aircraft.-

Route One had to ensure appropriate methods were adopted to ensure that the canal did not become contaminated by our activities. The Resin Bonded surfacing system is a specialist hand applied treatment consisting of a modified epoxy binder, which can be pigmented and dressed with natural or pigmented decorative aggregates, typically flints, gravels or spars.It provides a well textured surface, the thickness depending on the type of aggregate used typically 3-5 thickness and therefore can provide a decorative finish with good slip resistant properties. The system can be readily applied to asphalt, macadam and concrete providing the latter is suitably primed.
